The Theory Of The Circle Of Knowledge

It was during the first few months of my work life, that I first came across the concept of the ‘Circle of Knowledge’. Diagrammatically, it could be represented somewhat like below —
The circle of ‘Stuff we know’ grows as we grow and learn more. How do we grow that circle? By exploring the second circle — of what we know we don’t know. As we grow the circle of what we know by foraying into what we don’t know, we realize that the circle of what we know we don’t know also grows, and actually at a much faster rate than the inner most circle.
So, while you may think you are becoming more knowledgeable, you also discover, simultaneously, that what you know is nearly negligible compared to what you don’t know.....
