Was Cinderella Delusional?
This is my take on the famous folk lore "The Cinderella story". Please give your feedback
I was going through the market when I heard the noise. Kingsman were approaching. People were running, I tried to hide under the shade of a vegetable shop.
“Hear ye! hear ye! The girl who fits into the shoe will become the next princess.”
I rushed home. I had the other shoe in my attic under the dirty box of clothes.
To my surprise, my stepmother was in the room, holding my sparkly shoe in her hand.
I was shocked and terrified.
“What are these? Did you steal?”
“No, I got it from my fairy godmother”
“That’s absurd! There is no such thing as a fairy godmother. You must have stolen it and now you are acting delusional”
“These are the magic shoe.”
“Is that so? Let’s see?”
She threw the slipper on the floor breaking it into tiny pieces of glass.
” You shattered my dreams to meet the prince”
“Cinderella! you are delusional, There is no prince, and No one is coming. Your future is in your hands. Stop daydreaming, get an education and be your own woman.”

1 年Shilpi Shikha Cinderella got a good reality check, with the necessary support. Everyone needs one such person in their lives, someone who tells them to prioritise themselves. Very thoughtful piece, thanks for sharing! Loved it! ??
