Cincinnati Cares gets refresh, adding more connections to a way to help

We have refreshed Cincinnati Cares (https://cincinnaticares.org/) to better help all of Greater Cincinnati respond and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our visitors can easily navigate to:

How they can help now

• Give time and talent. (Find and connect with virtual and in-person ways to help the causes that matter most to them.)
• Provide needed items. (Discover and provide items needed by organizations serving causes important to them.)
• Make donations. (Discover and donate directly to nonprofits and response fund campaigns in our community without any platform fees.)

Now 3-years-old, Cincinnati Cares has evolved to be our region’s most comprehensive guide to active nonprofits in our community, where visitors can view and connect with:

• Stories of COVID-19 impact;
• *Ways to Help Now (with your time);
• *Ways to Give Now (campaigns and/or direct donations);
• *Items Needed Now (in-kind donations);
• *Data on Impact;
• *Organization profiles combining all of the above in one place;
• Let us know you want to help.

Importantly, the asterisks indicate items that can be filtered by cause and other aspects, making it easy for the visitor to find their way to help.

Key to our success is what we offer, at no expense, to our region’s active nonprofits:

• The opportunity to tell their story and connect it to what they need ($, time [volunteers], items);
• Exposure to a new and wider audience inclined to help;
• A place to share their real-time data during a crisis;
• Easy tools to create and update their profiles and information;
• An army of volunteers willing to do the work for nonprofits if needed.

We are the place in Greater Cincinnati to discover and connect with where and how to help.

If you represent a nonprofit -- either as an employee, a volunteer or board member -- you should update your nonprofit’s profile on our site to reflect the items you need, ensure your donation page is up-to-date and importantly create new COVID-19 friendly ways to help now. And either you or someone in your organization should add stories and impact data, telling our community how you have been impacted by COVID-19 and how you are beginning the process of responding and recovering.
