What is CIMA
In summary Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Professional qualification is recognised as the most relevant global finance qualification for a career in Business, Finance / Accounting. CIMA qualifications are respected worldwide and provide a unique blend of skills to help people and businesses succeed.
CIMA Qualification structure
The CIMA professional qualification has 3 levels and 3 part qualifications, i.e., the Operational level (Diploma in Management Accounting, the Management level (Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting and the Strategic level (ACMA/ CGMA) Each CIMA level has 3 Objective Tests (OT) modules/ subjects and a case study therefore each level has 4 modules/ subjects. The OT exams can be sat in any order but you may only sit for the case study exam after passing all the 3 OT modules of that level.
CIMA Registration
To register for your CIMA studies, you need to 1st check the exemptions you are eligible to apply for as this will determine your registration route and the level at which you may commence your CIMA Studies at. We can assist you with this free of charge ([email protected]). CIMA awards exemptions based on either your academic qualifications, other professional bodies membership or work experience.
?Should you not have any qualification or appropriate work experience to qualify you to register for the CIMA professional qualification then you will 1st have to study the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting (Certificate level) which is an entry qualification to the CIMA professional qualification and a qualification on its own right. This means that anyone with basic competence in Maths and English Language can get started with their CIMA studies and go up the ladder.
?How long does it take to study CIMA?
How long it takes to study CIMA depends on a number of factors like the exemptions you get, the amount of time you have towards your studies etc but on average it takes an average student 2-3 years to complete CIMA from Operational level to Strategic level. In some exceptional cases there are students who have managed to complete the CIMA Qualification from Certificate level to Strategic level in under 2 years.
?Where to study CIMA/ CIMA Registered Tuition Providers
We are a CIMA Registered Tuition Provider with a mandate to assist you qualify as a Chartered Management Accountant in the shortest possible time and at the least possible cost. We offer CIMA Exam Preparation Tuition Class Sessions – 3 semesters a year for OTs and 4 semesters a year for case studies. Our OT semesters are generally 3 months long and Case study semesters are generally 6 weeks long.
?CIMA Study Costs
Tuition fees range from as little as R2500 per module including all the relevant study resources lectures & study support. There are CIMA Fees which also needs to be paid.

To get started with your CIMA studies - as mentioned before, you 1st need to identify the exemptions you will get and hence the CIMA level you will commence your studies at (send us all your certificates including transcripts and/or detailed CV and we will assist you with the CIMA Registration & Exemptions process free of charge). Filling the enrolment form will also enable us to send you a quote for your CIMA studies. You may then confirm your enrolment with us by making payment or a payment arrangement.
?CIMA Registration will also need to be confirmed by payment of the registration fee which will normally be included on the quote unless you indicate otherwise. Exemptions are only confirmed to students who would have paid the registration fees – this means the CIMA registration fee will need to be settled as soon as possible.
