CIA TRIAD

CIA TRIAD

In cybersecurity, CIA stands for Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability, which are the three basic principles of information security.

The CIA triad is used as a framework to guide and prioritize an organization's efforts in protecting its information assets. By considering Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability, the triad helps ensure that an organization's security measures address the following key concerns:

  1. Confidentiality: Ensuring that sensitive information is protected from unauthorized access or disclosure.
  2. Integrity: Protecting against unauthorized modification or destruction of information, and ensuring that information is accurate and trustworthy.
  3. Availability: Ensuring that authorized users have access to information when they need it.

By using the CIA triad, organizations can balance their security efforts and make informed decisions about where to allocate resources to best protect their information assets.
