The IT Chronicles of Aman
Aman sat at his desk, bathed in the soft glow of multiple screens. It was 9 a.m. on a Monday morning, and the hum of computers filled the room. He stretched his fingers, readying himself for the day ahead. As an IT support engineer in a mid-sized tech company, his days were never the same. The only constant was the inevitable, unpredictable chaos that comes with managing technology.
Just as he opened his first email of the day, his phone rang.
"Hey Aman, my system just crashed again. I’ve got a meeting in ten minutes!" the familiar voice of Rachel from marketing chimed in, sounding exasperated.
"I’ll remote in and take a look," Aman responded calmly. He swiftly initiated a remote session, his fingers flying across the keyboard as he analyzed the issue. Within moments, he pinpointed the problem—a memory leak in one of the applications. After applying a quick fix and running a diagnostic check, Rachel's system was back online.
"All set. Should be smooth now," Aman said with a smile.
"You're a lifesaver!" Rachel laughed, already logging into her system.
It was just the beginning of what promised to be a long day. Next on the list was an urgent ticket from the HR department—apparently, their cloud storage was syncing incorrectly, leading to missing files. Aman grabbed a cup of coffee and headed over to their floor.
As he made his way through the office, nodding to coworkers, he passed by the server room. The gentle whirring of the servers always gave him a sense of comfort. For Aman, this was where the heart of the company beat—the infrastructure that held everything together.
He arrived at HR, where the manager, Anjali, was waiting. "We've been losing important files in the middle of syncing, and it’s causing a major backlog," she explained.
Aman quickly accessed their cloud service and ran diagnostics. He identified the root cause: an outdated version of the sync client was interfering with the process. Within 20 minutes, he updated the client, tested the sync with a few sample files, and watched as everything flowed smoothly.
Anjali let out a sigh of relief. "You should get a cape for all the fires you put out around here."

Aman chuckled. "No capes, just coffee."
Back at his desk, the day continued with more tickets—software installation requests, network connectivity issues, and troubleshooting buggy code for developers. Around lunchtime, Aman’s manager, Sameer, dropped by with a look of concern.
“We’ve got a problem. The finance team’s database seems to be lagging. If it crashes, we’ll lose hours of work,” Sameer explained.
Aman knew this was a high-priority issue. He quickly brought up the monitoring tool for the database server and saw the problem right away—too many concurrent processes were choking the server. Aman swiftly terminated unnecessary processes and optimized the database configurations. Within minutes, the server stabilized.
"You’re going to save us from a potential disaster," Sameer said, visibly relieved.
As the day wound down, Aman took a moment to reflect on his work. It wasn’t glamorous, and there were rarely moments of recognition. Yet, knowing that he was the one ensuring the seamless flow of operations kept him going. He thrived in the background, the silent guardian of the company’s technological infrastructure.
Before logging off for the day, he saw one final ticket pop up—another system update request. Smiling to himself, Aman clicked “accept” and thought, "Just one more. There’s always just one more."
As the office lights dimmed and the world quieted, Aman powered down his computer, content with another day of keeping everything, and everyone, connected.
