Chronic Attendance Issues Continue to Impact Student Learning

In January, and again in April I attended the Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS) conferences and got to meet some amazing leaders on the east coast.
They motivated me to take a deeper dive into the issues that impacted Virginia and as a thank you we created this report to distribute through VASS.??
This is how I hope more professional associations and professional experts can support the overall improvements in our education system. For the last couple of months, my focus has been on improving the public education system by supporting the integration of systems that can take some of the administrative burdens away to allow those educators who are coming to work to focus all of their attention directly onto the students or supporting the staff that serves the students.
I have been slow on recent newsletters, but this is an example of why.?I am writing this quick article from the conference center in Spokane Washington where I will be participating at the Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) conference to support the leaders up here in the Great Northwest.
As you read the link to Virginia's issues with their accreditation dashboard reporting I would ask each of our readers to think about what might help your district in your state. I would be honored to help other states and associations and I encourage all of my readers to send me a message or comment and we can look to do something similar for you too!
