Numerous AI systems are now accessible, reminiscent of the early 2000s when a variety of search engines emerged. Trying to find the right webpage required using multiple search engines and understanding the nuances of each search engine.

Sites like Dogpile were created that sent your search to several search engines, pulling in the results into one page for you to explore. You didn't have to even be aware of all the niche search engines, that was up to the metasearch engine to worry about.

A tool like Harpa.ai feels very much like those metasearch engines. It adds a layer between you and the other AI tools so you don't have to even be aware of which tool is being used. Harpa AI is a Chrome extension that uses GPT 3.5,4.0, Gemini, Claude, and others. It has features to generate prompts for different image generators as well.

The free trial has been nice, but I do not think I will be adding this expenditure to my budget. With ChatGPT, MidJourney, and Suno, I'm tapped out on what I'm willing to spend for AI services that don't have an immediate and clear ROI or have a strong entertainment value (e.g. Suno). And seeing you need subscriptions to some of these other services to get the full benefit, this is a clear your mileage may vary consideration.

Immediate uses for Harpa.ai

In a very practical sense, this Chrome extension brings AI tools into the browser experience. Generating copy into your email, summarizing web content, doing SEO research on a web page, setting up page monitors to alert you if content changes (price changes, etc.).

What I particularly liked was the suggestions for improvement. Can this be done manually? Yes. However, I've found these kinds of audits suffer from the auditor's biases or whether the auditor is rushing through the audit. A lot of self-doubt can trickle in as the auditor calls out things that could impact E-E-A-T elements. Lastly, the owner of the website may choose to dismiss the audit because it is the auditor's subjective opinion. Blaming a tool simplifies the conversation and allows us to focus on the core issue - how to improve E-E-A-T elements on the site. This quick audit provides a starting point.

Could this audit be recreated within Gemini or GPT4.0? Yes, absolutely. Do you want to take the time to make that custom GPT? Probably not. I've spent well over 10 hours trying to create one and the output is dramatically inconsistent. I've tried other custom GPTs created by others with similar lukewarm results.
