Statistical Estimation Cheatsheet

Cheatsheets are a reflection of one’s core understanding of concepts. Infographics are a great way to visualize concepts and find the connections and discover the story behind them. This time, I chose Statistical Estimation as the subject for the cheat sheet. Read and save the cheat sheet below.

Research Project under A Professor

I have discussed this with one of my professors at Penn State. I asked the same to one of my favourite professors at ISI last year. The result? Exactly the same thought process. In this post, I have discussed the procedure to apply for a research internship under a professor.

Statistical Estimation marries the Testing of Hypothesis

In this video, I have discussed the relationship between Statistical Estimation and the Testing of a Hypothesis. As a byproduct, Confidence Interval comes into existence. This video uses basic examples to show the clear distinction between them and the relationship between them. I also discuss the meaning of Confidence Interval, and what it actually means.

K Means Clustering Algorithm

I have explained the K Means algorithm using hand-drawn images. The algorithm is like an egg-chicken problem. The algorithm is made up of two steps and alternates between them to finally converge to a solution. I also talk about the entire algorithm using basic mathematical ideas, and statements to make you understand the K Means Algorithm.

National Mathematics Day and Conjectures

In 1913, Srinivasa Ramanujan submitted two problems to the Journal of Indian Mathematical Society (JIMS). On his birthday, to celebrate National Mathematics Day, 2022, I shared the two conjectures shared by him. Out of these two, one is still unsolved, and the other is solved in 1948. Let’s celebrate his greatness.

Special Content by One Reader

Samrit Pramanik has tried to build a shiny app on Collatz conjecture as shared below. It is beautiful to see young talents like him emerge and share content out of their love.
