I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on My menservants and maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. (Joel 2:28–32; cf. Psalm 16:1–11; Isaiah 44:3; Ezekiel 36:25-27)
Peter, the apostle, identifies the events taking place on Pentecost (in Jerusalem) as a manifestation (witness) of the promises of the LORD made through the Prophet Joel. (cf. Acts 2: 14-21)
It seems to me that the prophecies of Joel (and the others as noted above) are also manifested in the various infancy narratives captured in the first two chapters in Luke's and Matthew's Gospels. In other words, the Season of Christmas is also a Season of Joel's Prophecy
The Lord was clearly doing something new.
The language "Even on My menservants and maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy," has a very dramatic fulfillment in the words of the Virgin Mary, "Behold the handmaiden of the Lord, be it done to me according to your message." (cf. Luke 1:38)
The pouring of the Spirit upon the Virgin Mary is fulfilled in a manner not identically duplicated in human history:

The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God. (cf. Luke 1:35)
True each person baptized in "water and spirit" manifests the transforming fulfillment of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. (cf. Matthew 28:19; John 1:13,16; 3:5;7:37-39; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 3:27; 1 Peter 3:21)
The language of Joel has a very dramatic fulfillment in the life of Elizabeth and her unborn son (John the Baptist) both being filled with the Holy Spirit:
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.(cf. Luke 1: 41-45)
The language of Joel is fulfilled in the Virgin Mary's "Magnificat," Zechariah's "Benedictus," Simeon's "Nunc Dimittis," and the prophetess Anna's "Confitebatur Domino." (cf. Luke 1: 46-55; 67-79; 2: 25-35; 36-38)
The language of Joel -- "Your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams" -- is dramatically fulfilled in Zechariah's vision of the angel, the Virgin Mary's vision of the angel, and the shepherds vision of the angels, the Magi's angelic warning, and Joseph of Nazareth's numerous angelic inspired dreams. (Luke 1: 5-25; 26-38; 2: 8-20; Matthew 1:20-25; 2:12, 13, 19, 22)
Yes, the Christmas season like Pentecost echoes the voices of Joel, the Psalmist, Isaiah and Ezekiel.
