Christmas round up: The MACH Group

Christmas round up: The MACH Group

Merry Christmas from everyone at MACH, in what is a slightly unusual greeting this year… You may be aware that our resident dinosaur and acoustician Chris Jones has embarked on ‘a marathon, 65 million years in the making’ as he prepares to run the 2018 London Marathon in April dressed as a fearsome, slightly ridiculous looking T-Rex!

Why? Chris is raising money for Evelina London Children’s Hospital which cared for his 6-year-old cousin James, after an MRSA infection left him needing countless surgeries to rebuild his arm and leg. Amazingly, he now lives a relatively normal, active life.

Why a T-Rex? Who doesn’t love dinosaurs? It’s hard to tell whether 27-year-old Chris or 6-year-old James loves them more…

Chris has been training hard, terrorising local Park Runners on Saturday mornings and aims to raise £5,000 for the hospital. To find out more or to donate please use JustGiving (www.justgiving.com/fundraising/TRexMarathon) or text TRex70 £5 to 70070 (for a £5 donation). For more info, follow @trexrunning on Twitter or Facebook, or visit the website which has the full story at www.trexmarathon.com.

Besides dinosaurs, the MACH Group continues to grow in size and service offering. This year we welcomed Curtis, Len, Oscar, Rhys, Sintija, Steffan, Stojan and Yarong to our now 25 strong staff in Bristol and London.

We also launched MACH Energy (building physics modelling including thermal, daylighting, ventilation, SAP/EPC), MACH Residential (services for residential buildings) and MACH Software (BIM, web based design tools and plugins to Revit).

MACH Acoustics (building acoustics consultancy) continues to thrive, along with MACH Testing (air/sound testing, noise assessments) and MACH Products (attenuators for natural ventilation).

Have a ROARsome Christmas! We look forward to working with you in 2018.
