A Christmas Pitch
Chapter III
Found the documentation pertaining to an engagement (back when I was just starting in the business) for a bank's highly successful customer service department (with a name like a superhero team). I was lucky to land in the midst of creative and professional colleagues who knew the ropes and pulled the engagement through to success, while I was lapping up the experience and learning as fast as I could. I still remember the feeling of accomplishment on both sides of the contract when we go it all working. Even celebrated a bit, I with my very first work suit on. Peculiar colour but it was in fashion back then – I hope. One folder I picked was from a decade later. Was a bit surprising actually that our then team was picked to renew the ERP for the client. I especially remember how the product owner rallied for our team and our selection, even though other worthy competitors would have been much easier choices. Consequently it became paramount for us to make him a success.
Pulled myself finally out with the up for renewal contract's documents, after reliving many more memories. Sure, I could have emerged quicker but hey, I wanted to stray and remind myself of the past. Remind me of those thousands of days which have thought me tons of stuff about people, business and technology.
Learnings I'm able to put to good use right now for the benefit of present and upcoming client engagements. Engagements fueled by brand new technology, team members' awesome skills and new powerful approaches. Leveraged with the experience and skills I've collected on my way to here and now.
Christmas time is the time of remembering that which has been. A time to be grateful for the past and present and be hopeful for what will come. And, with the help of my subfolders, I do remember you and our joint successes that made us light up and be true to our full potential. I haven't forgotten the challenges we overcame that made us wiser and stronger. I cherish our time together and look forward to meeting up with you again in the not too distant future and again make – Magic!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
