Christmas Home Tour

Christmas Home Tour

Anyone who knows me, knows that biting off more than I can chew is my M.O. Somehow, I always end up taking on enormous projects, one after another but somehow, that is where I thrive. Last year, I agreed for our home to be on the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society’s Old Wilmington by Candlelight tour. My friend, who could have written the book on Pinterest, is a crafting/decorating/reusing/repurposing guru and when she suggested I accept the invitation, I listened. What I didn’t know, however, was that my house would be visited by between 1500-2000 people during the tour (gulp). Once I came to terms with the number of people that were going to see our home, I decided to get started on the decorations before life got ahead of me. So between staging gigs, decorating gigs, two preschoolers, the gym and my mediocre-at-best cooking regimen, I started crafting like I’ve never crafted before. It’s actually been Christmas in this house since July. The icing on the cake is that we were also featured on the Wilmington Historical Society home tour the weekend before. When it rains it pours! All in all, it has been really fun. My eldest has been really helpful and he loves contributing his artwork to the cause. Check out my Instagram account for a few more shots of my projects. A link to a newspaper article about the event is in the comments.
