We are always thrilled when we can feature the lovely Ms. Dolly Parton on our cover. For the December 2019 editions of Sevierville Living and Seymour Neighbors, we feature Dolly along with her Hallmark movie co-stars, Niall Matter and Danica McKellar.
Lights, camera, action! Christmas at Dollywood, a Hallmark Channel romantic movie, premiered on December 8, 2019. The movie is set in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and if you're from around here (Sevier County, TN), it was fun to see all the familiar places. Much of the film was completed far in advance (in Vancouver of all places), but Dolly Parton's movie scenes were filmed on location at Dollywood on November 7, 2019, one month before the film premiered, and in about 8 hours! It took a bit of Hallmark and Dollywood magic to pull that off!
Our story includes the movie synopsis, which, long story short, is: Rachel is a New York City event planner (played by Danica McKellar), and is tasked to plan the Christmas celebration at Dollywood. she's paired with Luke, the head of operations (played by Niall Matter) who thinks he can handle the party just fine on his own. It takes a bit of Hallmark and Dolly Parton magic (she's amazing) to keep these two from going in other directions. Will there be a happy ending? You'll have to watch it to find out! We also interview Danica McKellar (I had no idea how many grown men still have a crush on her from her Wonder Years days!), and we talk about her Imagination Library books.
We also try to catch everyone up on Dolly's latest whirlwind of activities, but I'm not sure that's possible because she was super busy in 2019, and I'm guessing 2020 will be no different. Dolly Parton is a national treasure, and it's fun to live in her hometown!
