Christmas curious: from grinch to TBD

Christmas curious: from grinch to TBD

What is your favorite part of Christmas? What is your favorite part of the holidays?

For the longest time I was overwhelmed by this time of year, everything I was "supposed" to do, that I often just focused on trying to get "through".

But this year (to save me from tears... hard not to sing this song), I'm trying something different.

I'm trying to re-learn what this time of year can mean to me and my family.

So, the scientist in me is observing what other folks are doing, and getting curious about it, staying open.

And as I'm asking questions and learning about what it means to folks, I'm also remembering my mantra, and seeing where things are aligned with me. Curious to see what I would like to intentionally incorporate, one step at a time.

When I'm not sure about my next decision, this is my mantra I use as an evaluation matrix:

I choose fun, I choose beauty,

I choose love, it makes me happy.

I choose to be at my frequency,

And together, maybe we create a symphony.

A wonderful friend just gifted me yummy home baked cookies. It was so so so sweet of her (pun so intended)!! The look on her face, and on mine. And I remembered - yes that's what it's about. The smiles. It was fun and beautiful! I will try baking some yummy Christmas cookies this week and see what happens.

So I'm curious, what is your favorite part of the holiday season? Would you be open to sharing with me?

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to all! I wish you wonderful things for 2025, and you get to choose what those wonderful things are ;)

Trying out the others' baked desserts! I really enjoy giving out surprises too if only I can remember where I hid them... I'm always afraid to run out of time in getting ready... So this year I enjoyed baking with my daughter and mother very early on and filled the freezer. I love your posts Aida that I take time to read almost each time! Passe de merveilleuses fêtes avec ta famille! My own mantra this Christmas season, I'm enough, just to remind myself to be content with all that I do get done. xox
