Christians and Politics

Increasing divisions and hatred have spread to almost all nations on earth. Here are the instructions of our Lord to his children to act in the contrary: “While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners? On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: “I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” – Even though we do not agree with what other people do and believe, we must not separate ourselves from them and take sides. True Christians are not obedient to any faction or political party; they are true to Jehovah. We are not Democrats or Republicans, Liberals or Conservatives. We are Monarchists: We pray, wait for, and long for the reign of God on Earth. Our calling is to invite everyone to join us in this faith and to receive eternal life. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
The Apostle Paul became all things to all men that he might save some. When we create artificial barriers between ourselves and others, we make our witness and testimony ineffective. Christians should be ardent followers on Christ and testifying of his wondrous love for all. "Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings."
