As an Older person I appreciate your article. I also been a chaplain for sick and lonely; many of them old. We should never forget that older people are important; their stories carry a lifetime of wisdom. Rev Anneli Sinkko MPhil

Thanks Ben for your ministry to our older persons. Absolutely we are to respect everyone equally as God's humanity. Dr M Krasovitsky advocated that older people abuse, marginalisation, isolation, inequality and fear. Ageism feel invisible and diminishing their automatically, value and voice. They experienced deeply negative feelings about what it means to be and get older. Churches without our older folks upholding the places of worship what would we do? Sad to say, there was a prejudice that older ageing is scary and stereotypes of older people portray them as frail,Forgetful and foolish. ADC R Fitzgerald said that unlike racism and sexism, Ageism is socially accepted and usually unchallenged. 1 in 6 Aussies over age of 65 identity as being seriously abused either physically, financially or by neglect. Indeed Ben, we will continue to do the noble by showing no favouritism,we have a right to respect and dignity and security no matter what our age is. Shalom
