The Christian Worldview Model Perspective

The character of Peter is strongly displayed throughout each of the discipleship models because of his unity and awareness that Jesus is God from the very beginning (Caldwell, 2014). Jesus knows that a fisherman’s life is physically demanding and filled with climate changes and emotional highs and lows but a fisherman knows his or her job and that is catching fish. So awareness seemingly affects Jesus’ methodology in mentoring Peter. As it was portrayed through the mind blowing experience of Peter going through a day unsuccessfully of catching any fish. Then to have Jesus perform a miracle that caused Peter’s nets to be filled with fish. This passage of the Bible seemingly describes Jesus’ one-on-one team building strategy for servant leadership depicted by His masterful call to Simon Peter through testimonies, trials, and parables (Wells, 2004). Later in Peter’s call after proper assessments and implementations of labor and knowledge with Jesus, Peter is announced and given the title as “Rock” meaning foundation of the Christian doctrine. This approach is common with modern communication techniques in contemporary leadership, for; example calling out a title to a potential successor for the benefit of mission succession and vision. This technique also promotes humility in the student to minimize failure and potential replacements (Caldwell, 2014).
