Are Christian Leaders 'Tailor made' for This Generation?

As a child, I usually play a game entitled 'follow the leader' , in fact I still do in many of my leadership sessions centered on capacity building, team building or creating a community of practice. For those of us who are not familiar with the game, a person is selected to leave a particular space and the others remaining choose someone to do simple fun actions of choice. The person is then called in while these actions are done by everyone and tries to guess who the leader is.

At some point in the game there is a call for a 'change of leader'. The leader changes but the followers remain the same. The indisputable facts are, leadership determines behavioral, leadership requires followership, and the result of leadership varies according to the leader.

We cannot ignore the facts that leaders are often revealed by their followers and their actions. Leaders establish unwritten norms by what they do over and over and not by what they say over and over.

We live in an age where double standard leadership is the new leadership pandemic. We need leaders that say 'follow me only if my words correspond with my actions. Now, more than ever there is a great need for these leaders to log in. This desire for authentic leaders rest in the struggle with skepticism and hypocrisy in leadership.

Are Christian leaders tailor made for this generation? .

''We cannot tailor - make the situations in life, but you can tailor - make the attitudes to fit those situations" - Zig Ziglar

The apostle Paul tells us in 2 Tim. 2:3 1-9 (NIV)- "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.??People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money,?boastful, proud,?abusive,?disobedient to their parents,?ungrateful, unholy,??without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,??treacherous,?rash, conceited,?lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

Christian leaders are thus called and anointed to redeem our time from the evil around us in our fallen world by using our time for good purposes - Ephes. 5:16. So, we already know the answer. We need change leaders and transformational leaders in this generation. Christian leaders are 'set apart and chosen for this purpose' -Deut. 14:2, already equipped with the knowledge and a tailor-made attitude to be exceptional examples.

God has aligned us in the right place, at the right time, with the right people, and your "Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you" - John. 14:26. He has set you up with the God given resources to fulfil your assignments.

Christian leaders are appointed, designed and positioned for this specific assignment. In other words, if you are a Christian and an appointed leader, you are a leader who is tailor-made for this generation.
