Christchurch Real Estate Update - November 2022

Well, it was another interesting, and as always, exciting year in real estate!?The reserve bank has dominated many of the headlines with their mission to curb rising inflation and it feels like we are close to the peak. The media is always looking for a great story and it is frustrating at times as they focus their commentary on national?New Zealand data versus?regional figures. When you look at various regions outside of Auckland and Wellington,?the picture is not so bleak. Christchurch remains steady, and last month’s median price is up on the previous month, so we continue to buck?the national trends.

At the coal face I’ve just finished marketing a beautiful little home in Kaiapoi where I had over 25 people through the 3-week open home campaign and ended in a multi-offer on the final day. There are still plenty of buyers out hunting for their first home, dream home or next move. Many of these buyers are also sellers, so the real estate cycle will continue regardless of some of the negative media spin. So let me end the year on a positive note as there is plenty to be grateful for when I reflect on 2022!

I want to send a special shout-out to a special lady, my wife Lauren. She manages all the marketing for my clients and writes all of the advertising scripts for my listings, she puts this article and my eNewsletter together (*though I snuck this bit in*) and she creates many?of the recipes we share. She also routinely bakes for not only the community via Good Bitches Baking, but she frequently treats my team to lots of yummy samples and morning teas. And most importantly, she puts up with my hyperactivity and early morning starts!! Without her big heart, clever mind and amazing baking, none of the magic would happen!
