Risk Assessment Workshop Embedding Effective Risk Management Systems in Children’s Homes March 4th

Lovin' Care - creating the conditions where love can safely flourish in Children's Homes April 10th

This is a game-changing and crucial training for leaders in children’s homes. In it you will explore how to create the conditions where love can safely thrive between the children you care for and the adults who do the caring. All children (well, human beings, actually) need to feel emotionally connected to others if they are going to thrive. We must rise to the challenge and make love possible.??

‘It was great to hear such refreshing content.’

‘Very informative and good group participation’

Missing from care – best practice training for leaders of children’s homes. April 22nd

One in every ten looked-after children will go missing compared to an estimated one in every two hundred children generally. This disproportionately high number places a responsibility on children’s homes to understand the key factors contributing to children in care going missing and to respond with the best possible practice.

Raising the Bar - Safeguarding in disabled children’s homes – 1 day

Safeguarding training is tailored specifically to address the additional needs and risks for children with disabilities in care. This training will increase your awareness and motivation and develop your range of supportive and protective safeguarding activities.

"Even if you have already done an array of safeguarding training, I would highly recommend you still take part in this course, it adds a lot of value to your knowledge and future practice"

"Fabulous! Fantastic! Really insightful for the most vulnerable children"

Quest for Safety – Attachment, Trauma, and Therapeutic Re-parenting in Children’s Homes - 3 x 3-hour sessions(virtual) or 3 x 4-hour sessions face to-face

An evidence-based, deep dive into children’s attachment needs, the impact of disrupted attachment and childhood trauma, and a practical and effective therapeutic re-parenting approach to use in children’s homes. The course will support the development and best use of positive relationships and attachment and trauma-sensitive approaches with young people who feel unsafe and resist closeness because of their childhood trauma. It helps staff understand what is needed to help children to recover and thrive and how to give it.

The 3rd section of Quest for Safety is Staff Care for Resilience in Therapeutic Re-parenting. This can be delivered as a stand-alone session, ideally but not exclusively, for teams who have already had training in attachment and trauma-informed practice.

A Quest for Safety is a perfect preparation for Lovin’ Care training in homes.

Preparation for Inspection – 1 day

Supporting you to embrace regulations, quality standards and Ofsted inspections as positive supports to excellent care. Equipping you with practical and effective ways of ensuring you are inspection-ready, able to showcase your best work, and able to tell the story of your children’s journey in your care.

Developing the “Superpower” that is Emotional Intelligence in children’s homes - 1 day

In six of the nine Quality Standards, the words "emotion/s" or "emotionally" are referenced sixteen times. Can we, as the adults who care for these exceptional children and young people, truly understand what it means or how our emotions might affect them if we are unaware? ?By gaining fundamental knowledge of Emotional Intelligence, we can understand our own emotions and those of the people around us, including our teammates. This knowledge empowers us to lead happier and more productive lives, fostering positive team dynamics and inspiring the children and young people to achieve their full potential.

Team Development Days

We can facilitate purposeful and fun days for your team to connect and work on issues together.

Team Wellbeing Days

Give back some love and nurture to those who work hard and care for our children.

And Remember …

The Registered Managers’ and Responsible Individuals’ Networks

A quarterly opportunity to meet with other Registered Managers or Responsible Individuals and have in-depth, facilitated discussions on areas of regulation and practice. These are reflective spaces to share thoughts and nourish yourself, as well as a learning space to explore developments, research, and good practice within the sector.

"Please note that CHQ offers the option of arranging courses for your entire staff team. If there are any particular training needs that we have not yet addressed and you would like to discuss, please feel free to send an email to [email protected]
