  • RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive): In RWD vehicles, power is transmitted to the rear wheels. This configuration is often found in performance and sports cars, providing better balance, handling, and a more traditional driving experience. RWD can be less favorable in slippery conditions, as the rear wheels bear both the propulsion and steering duties.
  • FWD (Front-Wheel Drive): FWD vehicles deliver power to the front wheels, which helps with traction in various conditions. This layout is commonly found in compact cars and offers improved fuel efficiency and interior space utilization. However, FWD cars may experience understeer, especially during aggressive driving, as the front wheels handle both steering and power.
  • AWD (All-Wheel Drive): AWD systems distribute power to all four wheels, providing enhanced traction and stability. AWD is beneficial in diverse driving conditions, such as rain or snow, as it can transfer power between the front and rear wheels. This configuration is often found in SUVs and some high-performance vehicles. AWD increases complexity and may have a slight impact on fuel efficiency compared to FWD or RWD.
