The Mahabharata, an epic narrative of ancient India, offers timeless wisdom that transcends eras and domains. One such profound lesson comes from the incident where Duryodhana and Arjuna seek Krishna’s support before the Kurukshetra war. This episode not only highlights the importance of making the right choices but also provides valuable insights for modern product development, emphasizing the significance of quality over quantity.
The Incident
As the Kurukshetra war approached, both Duryodhana and Arjuna sought the support of Krishna, the divine strategist.?Krishna, in his wisdom, offered them a choice: one could have his mighty Narayani Sena (army), while the other could have Krishna himself, with a condition (as a non-combatant).
Duryodhana, driven by his desire for power and numbers, chose the vast Narayani Sena, believing that a large army would ensure his victory. Arjuna, on the other hand, chose Krishna, valuing his wisdom, guidance, and strategic acumen over the sheer strength of an army.
Arjuna’s choice proved to be decisive. Despite having a smaller army, the Pandavas, with Krishna as their charioteer and guide, emerged victorious in the war.

7 个月Interesting................. Chandrasekar C. sir. nicely articulated the connection between mythology and synthetic world. I have also remembered one more lesson from this story. In the epic of the Mahabharata, there is a significant moment when Duryodhana and Arjuna both sought the support of Lord Krishna for the upcoming battle of Kurukshetra. Eager to secure Krishna's help, they arrived at his residence. Duryodhana, filled with pride, chose to sit near Krishna's head, while Arjuna, with humility, seated himself at Krishna's feet. When Krishna awoke, his eyes first fell upon Arjuna, who was seated at his feet. He greeted Arjuna warmly and inquired about his well-being. This sight greatly angered Duryodhana, who believed that because he had arrived first, he should have been the one to receive Krishna's attention. However, Krishna chose to acknowledge Arjuna first, valuing his approach over the timing of his arrival. The moral of this story is that it’s not about when you arrive; what truly matters is the approach and attitude you bring with you.
