Choose Your Hard

Choose Your Hard

I'm fascinated by this concept I've been writing about the last few weeks: how to have a superpower of accomplishing any goal you set for yourself. I believe it simply comes down to finding the motivation you need to keep you focused on following through on your commitment. And that motivation must power you through those days when you don't feel like doing the work necessary to achieve your goal.

Because the fact of the matter is, those days will come. You won't feel like picking up the phone and making the sales call. You won't feel like getting out of bed when the alarm goes off to do your workout. You won't feel like staying on task at work. You won't feel like saving the money you committed to saving. I will want to take that next drink. It's just human nature, and that's what we have to be able to overcome.

I've given you what I know are bulletproof strategies that, when implemented, will provide you with precisely what you need to achieve any goal you set. I know because it's working for me. But I promise it won't be easy. It will be hard. And that's why the top 1% is the top 1%; because they do it when they don't feel like doing it.

That's why I chose the title of this week's post: Choose your hard.

Being out of shape is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard.

Prospecting for new business is hard. Not having enough leads is hard. Choose your hard.

Being in debt is hard. Being financially independent is hard. Choose your hard.

But honestly, following through on the commitment that I've made about how much alcohol I consume in a week has been relatively easy simply because there's no way I'm going to let that check be cashed. Having that check cashed would be hard, so not having too much to drink has become easy.

Following through on any commitment can be easy by attaching the right motivation to the task. Not going on the golf trip with your buddies would be hard. Telling your kids they are not going on that trip you promised to take them on would be really F***ing hard. Who wants to let their kids down?

My challenge to our team for 2024 will be setting up a goal and then attaching this type of motivation that will 100% guarantee the achievement of the goal. How cool is that?

Let me know if you'd like to join us in our quest. We'd love to have more people involved. ?

Quote of the week:

“Obstacles can't stop you. Problems can't stop you. Most of all, other people can't stop you. Only you can stop you.”
