The world has been witnessing a new kind of financial crisis amidst this Corona Virus pandemic. The organizations are being shut down and the employees are being laid-off. The remaining ones having the will and guts to survive would love to coin on the people who are having the outstanding technical skills part from the good academic backgrounds along with adjusting personality traits.
If you have all these traits then be patient and just don’t take any opportunity that comes in front of your eyes. Treat yourself a blessed person and try to choose the company of your own choice. You are a person who should compromise as you are going to be the asset for the company.
But before taking any such decision, double check your credentials and skills. Once done then you should go and assess the company on the following parameters:
The company should be visionary not in terms of its profits but also in terms of strategic growth plans. Any company is actually the organization of its founders, team and staffs. Everyone has to contribute in one way or the other. It all depends upon the guidelines and philosophy of the owners and CEOs of the company.
Any such organizations must have a conducive environment to grow and flourish. This environment is only possible when the organization has a positive culture without any politics. The rules have to be the governing entities and must be with full transparency. This may be researched by you as a candidate and may be asked on the interview table as well, in a very diplomatic and non-offensive manner.
One of the main reasons or probably the most important one is the job and financial stability. It is not at all about the pay package offered but about the fairness in the compensation package. You must look into aspects like the scope of the stability during the financial recession, health and other insurances offered, post-retirement benefits, support extended to the family especially for the education of the children.
You must look into the career development plans of the company. This is a reflection as generated by the training programs and the funds allocated for it. The training is the vital elements of the growth of the employees and the company in return. Job rotations, training excursions etc. are some of the growth stimulators and should be a motivating factor for you as a candidate.
Generally, an employer does a performance appraisal as laid down in the policy statement. Such an evaluation keeps the employees with the pulled-up socks and helps them to perform as per expectations. However, such appraisals are also a chance to air your concerns for mutual benefits. Further, as an employee, you must also evaluate the performance of the organization in your growth apart from its performance in the commercial market.
If you are an outstanding performer then you must be loved and recognized in the board. Any company which has a culture to recognize and promote innovative thoughts is going to get reciprocated with the efforts and performance. If you find that this is not the case with your employer then you are equally competent to make a decision.
Remember that your family is also a part of your responsibility and life. The companies which are having concerns for your family and promote you to have quality time with them are likely to have better trust and morale from the employees. A proper work-life balance must be there with work flexibility, day-care facilities and other innovative tricks to help it out.
Should you face any hardships or any issue pop-ups then you must have access to a senior who is not there in the capacity of a senior or a boss but as an experienced and enthusiastic mentor. He must look into the root causes and should also guide you for career advancements.
Over worked-over stressed and Innovative yet underpaid are some of the unhealthy symptoms of the organization. All these hidden aspects can be had from the in-house unbiased employees. Get enriched with the best of the information on these aspects and have a great time choosing your best employer.
Good Luck!
