Choose a sensible BOSS over a branded company for better career growth.

Whenever we start looking for job change ,the very first thing we keep in our list is the size of the company and then the brand value. But how many of us actually keep the next/future boss in our priority list. No company is bad ,beat small or big these managers make them professional or unprofessional. I have changed many jobs thinking that this time I would be staying for long but "Better luck next time!" indirectly said by the boss compelled me to switch another job/company. Finding a better match is easier than finding a great BOSS. But if you are fortunate enough to get that, nothing like it. You have better learning, personality growth,leadership qualities and so on. And the best part is that if we get sensible bosses who know how to handle people properly ,we also learn the good qualities and become better Leaders in future. We talk about politics and corrupt politicians in our country but we forget about corrupt bosses who give good competition to these politicians in every possible way whether it's being bias or promoting undeserving favorite people in the office.

Hence forth when you go for any interview also inquire about your would be reporting manager and if you meet him/her ask few questions from your end like what they look in their sub-ordinates/team members, what matters to them honesty or false promises etc. Try checking their LinkedIn/FB profiles like how long are they working in the same company,how they grew up in their professional ladder,their education etc. This will help you in sticking to a company for long and also will provide you a good chance to work under a good person rather than getting in mess with a jerk. I wish someone would have explained me all these few years back which would have saved me in switching jobs frequently.But I did work with few wonderful people who never wanted themselves to be called as "BOSS" and made me to understand the true definition of "Good Boss". Sincere thanks to those "Bosses" or I should call them rare spices . Nevertheless if I can help some one avoiding the mistakes I made , will justify my this article. This time I am going to choose my BOSS not the company for sure.

This thought process has become increasingly popular. You can work for the best company in the world, however if the person in charge is a disaster waiting to happen, RUN!
