Choose Right, Choose Pure

Choose Right, Choose Pure

Fasting from dawn to dusk during the month of Ramadan causes changes in body’s biological patterns. Your metabolism slows down considerably, forcing your body to use energy as efficiently as possible.

That’s why it’s so important to eat right – to ensure that your body gets the right amount of nutrients to get you through the day.

One of the most common mistakes people make is to eat snacks after Iftar, especially the fried, sugary, and processed kind. But it’s best to stay away from these as they tend to be high in both calories and trans-fats. The other mistake people make is to eat a lot of food very quickly after long hours of fasting. Instead, try breaking your fast with a healthy soup, and then move on to the main course which could be fresh vegetables cooked in pure olive oil, along with grilled or steamed meat. Additionally, you should eat whole wheat pasta and bread as they tend to be rich in fiber and are therefore good for your digestive system. Keep in mind that little choices, like using apple cider vinegar instead of salad sauces, can make a huge difference!

Before sunrise, you can opt for dairy products—plant-based oat beverage is a great option—as well as fresh fruit juices. If it’s 100% organic, even better. This will help you sustain your energy levels through the day as they are packed with essential micro-nutrients.

Above all, drink plenty of water so you’re hydrated.

Stay healthy, stay nourished. That’s our wish for you this Ramadan. ?
