关于我们
Community Counseling & Mediation (CCM) is a neighborhood-based agency providing a range of social welfare, health, educational, vocational, and supportive housing services to at-risk children, youth and families. Founded in 1982 with a mission to respond to the many problems facing poor African American and Latino adolescents and their families, CCM has since evolved into one of the very few NYC organizations combining culturally sensitive mental health services with a range of educational, health and social activities. Our current programming includes: youth development, foster care prevention, conflict resolution training, mental health services, foster care and adoption, substance abuse treatment, and supportive housing. Since day one, the goal has always been to address problems in Brooklyn's most poverty-stricken youth and families by addressing prevention and early intervention. For over 40 years, CCM has been entrenched in Brooklyn's most at-risk and underserved neighborhoods including the Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, Brownsville, East New York and Flatbush communities.

Congratulations, Mr. Brooks, on being appointed President and Chief Executive Officer! Under your leadership, Community Counseling and Mediation will be transformed to best serve New York City’s most vulnerable residents. I am proud to work alongside you to elevate and enhance CCM’s mission. We are fortunate to have you continuing and building upon your father’s legacy to reach new heights. Warm regards, Carmen Collado, LCSW-R
Meet Doug Brooks, LCSW-R, CCM’s new President and Chief Executive Officer! Doug has a rich history within the CCM family starting in the late 1990s after he received his MSW from the Columbia School of Social Work and we believe he will take our organization to new heights as we navigate providing excellent services to New Yorkers in need. His extensive experience in Children’s Services, Psychotherapy, Supportive Housing and educating the next generation of Social Workers at the NYU Silver School of Social Work poises CCM for an exciting time in our history. We look forward to growing with a phenomenal leader at the helm as we enter this new and innovative phase. Thank you, Doug, for your dedication to CCM and welcome to the team in this new capacity! ??

Last week, we were joined by Community Counseling and Mediation (CCM) to speak with our members about supportive housing in NYC. Discrimination, family rejection, and community violence are all factors that contribute to the disproportionate number of?LGBTQ+ individuals who experience homelessness. Data shows that one in five LGBTQ+ people in the United States have experienced homelessness at some point in their lives, and one in five transgender individuals have been discriminated against when seeking a home. These statistics highlight the importance of having resources such as CCM who can assist individuals in securing stable housing.
