Chomsky Propaganda Model: Cobham Hall Alumni Journalist, Aristocracy & Intl. Elite vs. Foxcroft Robber Barons

In my efforts to find journalists willing to expose how RFK, Jr.’s 2024 presidential campaign has been sabotaged by his managers, staff, volunteers, and even millionaire donor, Tim Mellon, I contacted celebrity journalists from my alma mater in England, Cobham Hall; Mary Ann Sieghart, Annabel Heseltine, Mishal Husain, Anjali Rao and Alex Crawford. Given the 3-ring circus which the 2024 American presidential campaign has become, with more than 2 dozen candidates wasting $1.24B of donor money, one would think that these ‘ladies’ would be falling over themselves for an inside ‘scoop’. However, that has not been the case—begging the question WHY?

There are many questions to be asked of RFK, Jr., and those involved in his campaign. WHY did they marginalize and ignore voices of blue-collar workers; farmers and agrarians; homemakers, and moms upset with schools, family courts, and child protection services; divorcees; 40+ workers; and poor urban blacks during his presidential bid? WHY did he exclusively target Millennials and Woke urbanites in his campaign messaging, and embrace DEI policies in his hiring practices? Was Nicole Shanahan picked as his running mate in exchange for the $8M she donated? Did he hire Amaryllis Fox as his campaign manager who has no experience or qualifications for running a campaign, because she is his daughter-in-law? WHY did Morgan & Morgan (RFK, Jr. partner) refuse to assist me with a lawsuit against an employer who fired me a year ago in reprisal for supporting RFK, Jr.’s presidential bid? WHY was Tony Lyons not interested in my book about the problems in Washington, when he is purported to be a ‘maverick’ publisher for unpopular voices? The book would have significantly help Kennedy’s chances of winning. So, is Lyons a male chauvinist pig who believe women are incapable of intelligent thought? Or is he an ally of the Woke NYC upper crust who want to maintain the ‘too big to fail’ American Dream, and motivated by greed, rather than political convictions?

Furthermore, WHY did Tim Mellon, after being informed in Dec. 2023, that Kennedy’s campaign was wasting his money, give him another $15M? WHY in the past 6 years has Mellon donated $276M to Republican candidates, while supposedly remaining out of politics his entire life? WHY did his sister, Catherine, ignore my communication, as did her son, John Warner IV? Why did Skyhorse publish Tim Mellon’s autobiography, panam.captain? Was it in exchange for the $25M contribution to RFK, Jr; campaign? Or does Tony Lyons and/or Mellon have another agenda? Even if the answer to all of these questions only show gross negligence, stupidity, lack of coordination and leadership, and functional illiteracy, in the matter, that does not absolve those involved of wrongdoing. The bigger problem, and story for journalists, is how American elections have become nothing but a reality show, entertainment for the American people, and income source for press outlets, publishing houses, think tanks, non-profits, and entertainment and hospitality industries? ??

Both Bunny and Catherine are alumni of my alma mater in Middleburg, VA, as is the cousin of RFK, Jr., Sydney Lawford McKelvey, daughter or Hollywood actor Peter Lawford and Pat Kennedy. Bunny was a ‘good friend’ of Queen Elizabeth, and one of Truman Capote’s Swans, along with C. Z. Guest, Nancy Reagan, and Jackie ‘O’. However, Ethel was a persona non grata amongst NYC high society, and after her husband’s death, she maintained her lavish lifestyle through donations to her RFK Human Rights non-profit. Her daughter Kerry became the director of the organization in 1986, and expanded its donor revenue from $3.5M in 2001 to $12M in 2022. However, instead of human rights it promotes LBGT rights. RFK, Jr.’s platform (in writing) embodied the principles and values which JFK and RFK stood for in their politics, if not personal lives. The Kennedys, like all the other political families in Washington who stayed after their ‘meal tickets’ were voted out of office, have been focused on Cashing In on the city’s Swamp since they arrived in the 1950s. The REAL reason that they have not supported RFK, Jr. is petty jealousy between siblings who do not want to share the limelight with him in Woke controlled DC.

The laissez-faire governance and ivory-tower living of the Robber Baron heirs and heiresses in the past 150 years has only resulted in boom-and-bust economies and unending wars, and subversion of the US Constitution and Puritan work ethic which made ‘America Great’. The Anglican and Germanic poor immigrants of the 1800s were a far cry from those who had emigrated to the New World seeking freedom of thought and speech in the 1600s. However, as historian Nancy Isenberg explains in her book, White Trash: The 400-Year Untold History of Class in America, until Americans face the TRUTH about their past in the ‘Old World’, they will never come to terms with their present and future. As she explains, Americans define ‘class’ as the accumulation of wealth and privilege, rather than a function of ones character, integrity, and honor. And while the Robber Barons heirs and heiresses have been spending down the last of their diluted fortunes, ladder grapplers of all colors and religions have been infiltrating American society through exclusive boarding schools, ivy league colleges, and strategic marriages. The lack of civic duty and patriotism of Americans is as bad as the immigrants and foreigners in the country who are following their lead.

The same phenomenon has occurred with Cobham and its alumni, who include Princess Antonia of Prussia, the great-granddaughter of Wilhelm II, German Emperor and a great-great-great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria. She is also, through her marriage to Charles Wellesley, 9th Duke of Wellington, the Princess of Waterloo in Belgium, Duchess of Wellington in the UK, Duchess of Victoria in Portugal, and Duchess of Ciudad Rodrigo in Spain. Her husband’s career has included conservative MP for Surrey (1979-1984) and Surrey West (1984-1989) and a hereditary peer in the House of Lords since 2015, while she has been involved in ‘charity’ work for the poor. She served as President of the Guinness Partnership, which offers affordable housing, and was awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her work. She also served on the board of Eton College, and is a fellow of the King’s College. In 2009, she became the Chairwoman of the Royal Ballet School, during which she helped lead the school’s ‘healthy dancer programme’ and fundraising events. She and her husband participated in the royal procession in King Charles’s Coronation, and sat in the royal carriage with the King and Queen in the King’s procession at Royal Ascot later that year. ?

If all the queens, princesses, duchesses, baronesses, and ladies in Europe (and refugee ones in the US) do not come down from their ivory towers and pay attention to what is going on in their country, community, and families, then they risk losing their titles, crowns, and property holdings—just like royals and aristocrats have for centuries. As I explained to my letter to King Charles in 2018, monarchs have the right to be consulted, to encourage, and to warn (W. Bagehot). They also have the Obligation to do so under their social contract with their People. And if the Royal family does not start assuming their Obligations, instead of waving from balconies and handing out awards to people who are bringing the Kingdom down, the monarchy will not survive.

When I lived in England in 1977-78, there was already much discussion about the value of the British Royals given how much money it costs to keep them in a life of luxury, pomp, and circumstance. And in the interim decades, the laissez faire governance of the Queen and her government has just added credence to the contention that the institution is not worth its price tag. Unfortunately, as seen in the past 200 years, abdications of kings and queens, have just left political vacuums which have given rise to extremist dictatorships on both sides of the political aisle. Therefore, I am strenuously advocating that ‘royals’ start providing the leadership and oversight which their position of privilege affords. Because, if they do not it will end badly for them, as well as their kingdoms and people.

British journalists Sean Rankin and Steven McCracken expose how the exclusive private schools and universities in the UK have been used as social climbing tools and entry into a corporate controlled power structures on their website, the Free Press Project. In explaining how oligarchs control the masses through their control of the media, Marxist, Noam Chomsky, and Wharton School economist, Edward A. Herman, developed the Propaganda Model, as explained in their book Manufacturing Consent, and I quote, ?

Large media organisations such as the New York Times and Washington Post are corporations whose institutional goal/obligation is to provide profit to shareholders. In addition to this, many of these media giants are affiliated to even larger corporations (for example CBS owned by General Electric), which, again, have a legal obligation to maximise profit for shareholders

The primary income stream for the vast majority of media organisations is advertising revenue. In effect, therefore, the “product” the media sell are audiences and the “market” they sell to is other businesses (the advertisers). Chomsky summarizes: “these are big corporations selling privileged audiences to other corporations. Now the question is, what picture of the world would a rational person expect to come out of this structure?” A view of the world, in short, which favours the interests of corporations and the wealthy and ignores, ridicules or subverts views/stories which threaten their key interests. Chomsky and Herman proposed five key filters of the Propaganda Model that determine the “news that’s fit to print”…

FILTER 1: Size, Ownership and Profit Orientation of The Mass Media

Ownership of Media in the US is Dominated by Huge Corporations

… Their survival as corporate entities is based on profitability within a capitalist system. As a result, any criticism or discussion of alternative economic systems is necessarily refuted or ignored as a matter of basic of self-preservation… H&C illustrate this point by discussing the revolving door between business, politics and the media, the “symbiotic” relationship between each of these strands of the same overarching system.

FILTER 2: ADVERTISING

…As corporations trying to survive (i.e. be profitable) within a capitalist system, media companies must attract and maintain revenue from advertisers… The priority for advertisers is “attracting audiences with buying power.”… If the media attempted to engage a disenfranchised social group or discuss issues in contradiction to the advertisers interest (such as criticising the capitalist system) then advertisers would remove their patronage and this would threaten the newspaper’s survival…

FILTER 3: SOURCING

the sources that journalists use to produce their stories as another key filter of the propaganda model: … Since official sources are authoritative by default journalists can happily run stories about the US Military sourced from the Pentagon. It is likely to be significantly more time consuming and expensive for them to run a less flattering story about the US Military, when the source might be a rebel fighter on the other side of the world and concrete evidence (rather than an official’s word) would be required…. By providing this path of least resistance organisations create a leverage system over the media. Journalists have an incentive to be compliant – or they may be shut out and “the scoop” given to rivals. Personal relationships are also created between journalists and their sources. “It is very difficult to call authorities on whom one depends liars, even if they tell whoppers” notes Mark Fishman, who has written of a system of “authorised knowers.”

Outside of established traditional sources the media rely on a limited stable of these “authorised knowers”. Academic institutions, business groups and think tanks are regularly contacted for comment. The viewer may mistakenly assume that the speakers they provide are independent, when, in fact, many thinktanks are funded by wealthy individuals/organisations, something virtually never communicated to the audience by the news team.

FILTER 4: FLAK

Flak is used by Herman and Chomsky to describe how certain individuals or institutions will attempt to discredit and/or intimidate journalists who question or oppose the established power and doctrine they represent. “The government is a major producer of flak [] regularly assailing, threatening and “correcting” the media, trying to contain any deviations from the established line.” Business groups and heavily funded entities like the Israel lobby are additional examples of organisations that seek to exert influence through flak.

FILTER 5: ANTI-COMMUNISM-terrorism and FEAR

“I think when we talked about the fifth filter we should have brought in all this stuff – the way artificial fears are created with a dual purpose… partly to get rid of people you don’t like but partly to frighten the rest. Because if people are frightened, they will accept authority…”This is the key part of how this filter works. By removing nuance and making the debate binary the propaganda model again interrupts and suppresses oppositional voices. The debate becomes either you are with us or against us. To accept one aspect is to accept the entirety, and to question one aspect is to question, and thus criticise, the whole.

This creates a system where dissenting voices “are kept continuously on the defensive (or) lapse into silence, paralyzed by the fear of being tarred with charges of infidelity to the national religion.” In the case of McCarthyism in the US, citizens were literally put on trial to defend themselves against accusations that they were Communists. Today anti-Communism has largely been replaced by “The War on Terror”. The (at times very real) threat of Islamic extremism has been exploited by the US and UK to expand and impose their interests in the Islamic world and to keep their citizens in a constant fear of both externally and internally radicalized groups committing atrocities.

While Chomsky and Herman are correct in their analysis of journalists and mass media in their Propaganda Model, they fail to understand that the universities for which they work are just as much a part of the Propaganda machine as the media. Furthermore, publishing houses, whose revenues come from selling books to the ruling-elite, are another element in the matrix, as are think tanks and fraudulent non-profits whose donor funding come from the oligarchs. I have emailed Chomsky several time, but just once received a response saying he would ‘take a look’. Unfortunately, Chomsky and Herman are as much a part of the Propaganda Machine as everyone else in what has been a ‘binary debate’ between the ‘capitalists’ and ‘communists’ for the past two centuries.

As American philosopher and Washington insider pointed out in 1941, Managerialism is the greatest challenge facing the Modern Industrial Age. It has NOT been the Mandevillian capitalism and Stalinist communism which have dominated policy debates and decisions for centuries. As Chomsky points out, no criticism or discussion of alternative economic systems are refuted or ignored as a matter of basic self-preservation of their respective paradigms. If Washingtonians, whose ever growing GDP is reliant on an ever-growing government, had recognized that the problems of economies and societies were linked to rising urbanization, and too many chefs spoil the soup corporatism; then millions of jobs in government, the military, universities, think tanks, non-profits, and derivative industries would not have been produced in the past 85 years. The development community has long recognized that exploitative socio-economic models, which ease the guilty consciences of the ‘rich’ with ‘charity’ for the poor, which are poor because they are exploited by the rich, are unsustainable. However, the international community continues with policies and practices which perpetuate this model—while passing out propaganda about Sustainable Development Goals.

Trump poses a threat to the radical Left, not because of ideological differences, but fear of millions of Democrats in DC’s Swamp that they would lose their jobs in public and private sectors if he wins. For decades, the Democrats have been injecting money into the city’s economy with creation of businesses and non-profits filled with Woke factions; whose employees and management are vicious against anyone who disagrees with them. RFK, Jr. supports Freedom of Speech, as long as it agrees with his views, as is the case with all the various factions on both sides of the political aisle. At present, it is the liberals who are radicalizing and inciting violence of the white conservatives with their vicious attacks. I am constantly told that hate crimes against me are ‘fair’ because I represent ‘white privilege’. It makes no difference that the many ‘privileged whites’ I know have cancelled me, because I am denouncing the exploitative behavior these ‘minorities’ are railing against. And in the current situation it has become the minorities which have become the new predators, instead of ‘saviors’, in the story. The Democrats have dug themselves into a very deep hole with their power-hungry party politicking. And the malicious litigation against Trump by the #MeTooers, in order to label him as a convicted felon, has backfired on them. Not only have they lost public support, they have angered Trump and given him all of the ammunition he needs to go after them, once he enters the White House. ??

As Chomsky points out in explanation of Filter 5, the ‘War on Terror’ started in the 1970s by the Nixon Administration just replaced McCarthyism and Red Scare of the 1950s. So, WHY has he, and everyone else in the Propaganda Machine, not been more vocal about ending a policy everyone recognizes has only waste $1T of taxpayer’s money, and transformed the US into a police state. Furthermore, I would think as a linguist, Chomsky would be interested in the manner in which women who claim to be fleeing violent husbands and families in Muslim countries (and finding ‘liberation’ to ‘realize their dreams’ in the US and UK) has been used to incite anti-Muslim sentiments and justification for unending wars in the Mid-East. Women, and their obsession with shopping and consumption, were used to ‘sell’ anti-communist sentiments to the American people in the early and mid-1900s in the same way that anti-Muslim sentiments have been ‘sold’ by women seeking the limelight on a podium and a large following. The ways, means, and end objective of the situation are the same. So why have ‘experts’ like Chomsky not been interested in the influence women and their rhetoric from all sides is having on institutions and political processes?

As I point out in examination of the case of Betty Mahmoody in 1988 with her book, Not Without My Daughter, she was the first to propagate anti-Muslim ‘flak’ using domestic violence and oppression of women as the catalyst. Since then, the same formula has been used by thousands of Muslim women seeking ‘fame and fortune’ in the West. Amal Clooney has taken the situation to further heights, as I explain in my blog, “Amal Clooney & Arab/Muslim Feminists Promoting Discrimination & Hatred of Arabs & Muslims in the West in Order to Justify Unending Wars in Mid-East,.” According to the IRS, by 2011 Betty had amassed a fortune of $50M. Her daughter has just followed in her mother’s footstep with her own books and speeches. However, like all too many stories in the press and bookstores, Betty’s is filled with inconsistencies, contradictions, and lies. I have zero tolerance for women who lie about domestic violence or sexual assault. It has done great damage to the credibility of women who are REAL victims, and who the feminist have been calling nothing but lying gold-digging whores for decades. The hypocrisy of the #MeToo feminist and their “every woman should be believed” campaign is INCREDIBLE! But, what is more incredible is that the men are not ‘fighting’ back and defending their Rights and Honor! ????

The UK is facing the exact same socio-economic and geo-political problems as the US for the same historical reasons. And if the British aristocracy does not start assuming the obligations that their privileged birth and wealth affords, they and the monarchy will not survive. Unfortunately, 200 years of deposing of kings and queens, and signing of constitutions which are never implemented, has left the world with unending wars, boom and bust economies, rising nationalism, and military dictatorships. Current problems in banking systems and financial markets date back centuries (as seen in the case study of Sieghart’s family in the 1800s Gilded Age of Austria). However, the current situation can be traced back to the 1970s which culminated with the 2008 collapse. Unfortunately, instead of confronting problems within banking systems, governments and the international community have been aiding and abetting ‘too big to fail’ economies with macroeconomic manipulations.

While the injection of money into systems by central banks was said to be temporary when Obama became President, it has become permanent with no end in sight. In the meantime, government agencies have become more corrupt, bureaucratic, and subversive, while private sectors run amuck. These are not problems which are difficult to fix. German Holocaust survivor, Riane Eisler, has provided the framework of a new socio-economic model in her books, and nonprofit, Center for Partnership Systems. However, her work has been used as polite cocktail banter, instead of in serious public policies positions.

In addition to examining the families and work of Cobham celebrity journalists, Sieghart, Heseltine, Crawford, Husain, and Rao, I will also be examining the role the school’s title gentry and international student body have played in the Propaganda Machine described by Chomsky, and which are as follows,
