The Choice

The basic idea: Today, I'm describing something I believe but cannot prove. You can draw your own conclusions, but this belief system works well for me.

Universal Intelligence drawing by Bruce Kasanoff

I believe that if we see ourselves as a receptacle capable of receiving intelligence from other sources, then we will receive such intelligence. It may come in the form of a book, poem or song we eventually write... or it may be an insight that changes our lives.

In my crude sketch above, I'm trying to show that your brain can function as though it was a series of receptacles open to information flowing into them from above (or even from thin air.)

The key to this belief system is understanding that the source is elsewhere; it's not just in your head. Great artists and musicians already understand this, especially those who wake up one morning with an entire hit song in their head, seemingly out of nowhere.

Intelligence can either flow through us readily, or bounce right off us. If you are filled with anger or are incessantly distracted, then this is likely to be the case.

A bit more background: Here's where the implications of this belief system get dramatically more impactful. If you identify with the receiving equipment—that is, your body—then at death, you cease to exist. But if you choose to identify with universal intelligence, then you live forever.

This is THE CHOICE: die when your body dies or train yourself to connect with universal intelligence and live forever.

Stillness is how you signal the universe that you are ready to connect with the intelligence present all across it.

I am sharing this very personal belief with you today because if you block intelligence with trivia, conspiracy theories, incessant chatter, hate, envy, ego, greed or fear... then things probably won't turn out so well for you in the long run.

The Choice is very personal. You can't choose for another person, and I won't choose for you. My only intention is to draw your attention to the fact that you have a choice.

Choose wisely.

another Bruce: "If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend."~Bruce Lee
