CHOCOBYTES #30: Solo Leveling, Life Is A Single Player Game
Mysterious and unexpected, that’s life.
And people are awfully “tied” by so many things in life:
We are so limited within our power yet we crave many things and have much to do, in the name of something greater, productivity, getting rich, revenge, or just trying to be happy.
On the other side, some find their fulfillment in their purpose, find life’s meaning in their life, make peace with themselves, and go forward with hope.
Their resolve and solution are uniquely theirs, it may work on you but mindfully think of it as a reference to solve your problem.
Because your solutions to your problems need to be created by you.
As a reminder:
In this short span of our lives, everything we know is partially true.
Our journey of life is uniquely meant for each one of us to walk.
But the way you play should be better. Let’s dive in.
I. Navigating Your Solo Journey
Navigating life's journey on your own can be both liberating and challenging.
Understanding independence means realizing that ultimately, you are responsible for your path.
Your choices, actions, and reactions shape your unique story.
Embracing this perspective empowers you to take ownership of your life and make decisions that align with your values and aspirations.
Independence doesn't mean you have to go it alone; it's about being confident in your abilities.
It's recognizing that while others may offer support and guidance, the ultimate responsibility for your happiness and success lies within you.
This mindset shift can be empowering, giving you the freedom to chart your course and pursue your dreams without relying on external validation or approval.
At times, navigating your solo journey may feel daunting.
There may be moments of uncertainty or fear as you venture into the unknown. (read this for more, Get Lost On The Right Path)
But remember, every step you take is an opportunity for growth and self-discovery.
Embrace the challenges as opportunities to learn and evolve, knowing that each experience shapes you into a stronger, more resilient individual.
Ultimately, understanding solitude as your independence is about recognizing the power you hold to create the life you desire.
It's about trusting yourself to navigate the twists and turns of life's journey with confidence and resilience.
So, embrace your independence, knowing that you have the strength and capability to craft a life that reflects your truest self.
II. Creating and Mastering Your Life
You get stronger by facing greater odds.
You may feel scared and despair but be still and observe. Face the odds with determination to win, cautious yet brave acts, and calculated risk.
Even if you lost a battle, you should win the war.
Embracing Personal Responsibility
Embracing personal responsibility is about recognizing that you are the captain of your ship.
You have the power to steer your life in the direction you desire.
By taking ownership of your decisions, you empower yourself to learn from your experiences and grow as an individual.
This mindset shift fosters self-awareness and accountability, key components of personal development.
Practical strategies for personal growth and self-improvement include cultivating a growth mindset, where you view challenges as opportunities for learning and growth.
Reflecting on your experiences, both successes and failures, allows you to glean valuable insights and refine your approach to life.
Additionally, practicing self-compassion and forgiveness can help you navigate setbacks with resilience and grace.
Crafting Your Game Plan
Crafting your game plan involves setting clear personal goals and devising strategies to achieve them.
What do you want to accomplish in life?
What steps can you take to move closer to your goals?
Your game plan consists of only 3 simple things to sustain yourself:
To keep your game plan simple and trackable, you need to think of it just like RPG (Role-Playing Game) games where they have (in general) main quests, side quests, and XP (experience) gaining.
Main Quest
Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way. - Viktor Frankl
On the search for meaning:
Your main quest in life is your overarching goal or purpose—the ultimate objective that guides your actions and decisions.
This quest represents what you want to achieve or accomplish in the long term, and it serves as the foundation for your life's journey.
Identifying your main quest requires introspection and reflection on your values, passions, and aspirations.
What is the ultimate outcome you desire?
What legacy do you want to leave behind?
Your main quest provides direction and meaning to your life, guiding you toward fulfillment and success.
Side Quest
Things that support your main quest even if it doesn’t relate to each other.
In addition to your main quest, life presents opportunities for side quests—secondary goals or endeavors that complement your main objective.
Side quests allow you to explore new interests, develop additional skills, and experience different aspects of life.
These quests may arise unexpectedly or be consciously pursued to add richness and diversity to your journey.
Embracing side quests provides balance and variety to your life, offering opportunities for growth, adventure, and personal enrichment.
Those could be:
Side quests add depth and dimension to your life's narrative.
Gaining XP, Level Up (Experience)
This is how you “measure” your growth.
Just like in a video game where characters gain experience points (XP) and level up by overcoming challenges and achieving objectives, life offers opportunities for growth and development through experience.
very challenge you face, every obstacle you overcome, and every success you achieve contributes to your personal growth and evolution.
Each experience—whether positive or negative—provides valuable lessons and insights that shape your character and abilities.
By embracing challenges and actively seeking new experiences, you accumulate XP and level up in the game of life, becoming:

Remember that every experience is an opportunity for growth and learning, helping you progress toward your main quest and fulfill your potential.
III. The Pillars of Your Life (Finding Joy, Fulfillment, and Sanity)
While moving forward, keep asking yourself who you are.
You indeed need to earn money to be able to survive in these modern days, but deeper than that there are things you need in order to support your life as a human.
If a change of direction is needed, do it.
Wait too long and you will lose the momentum that might change your life as regrets will follow.
You want to do something greater than yourself, you want it so bad but you don’t where to start.
When it occurs, stop, pause, and take a break. Your well-being is as important as your work.
You do work as a human where you pour every aspect of yourself:
Those are what make us different than any AI, even AI is made by the human mind to help us to achieve a better life.
Treat yourself as a human being because anyone only knows partially about you and can’t read your mind.
Finding joy in the solo quest involves nurturing a strong sense of self-awareness and self-love.
Take time to explore your interests, passions, and values.
What brings you joy and fulfillment?
What activities make you feel alive and inspired?
About Happiness & Fulfillment
Happiness is created.
Fulfillment is created.
Both things are not found, they are created.
Created by investing your time, emotion, and energy for something/someone you love.
You may find someone is extremely fine with being alone because they know when and where to spend their time wisely (it doesn’t mean they want to be totally alone, people still need to socialize).
While relationships and connections with others are undoubtedly important, true fulfillment comes from within.
They are able to articulate their emotion and needs pretty well.
Their fulfillment begins with embracing the idea that life is inherently a solo journey.
Additionally, practice gratitude for the blessings and opportunities in your life.
Supportive Environment
You do need quality relationships in your life.
They provide emotional support, companionship, and a sense of belonging.
Surrounding yourself with caring individuals who uplift you during tough times and celebrate your successes is crucial.
These relationships contribute significantly to your mental health, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression.
Nurturing supportive bonds also fosters personal growth.
They encourage you to pursue your passions, overcome obstacles, and strive for improvement.
Prioritize communication, trust, and respect in your relationships so can you create a conducive environment for growth and well-being on your solo quest.
Again, authenticity.
Your Goals Need This
Create a solid foundation for a meaningful and rewarding life journey.
Whether you call it goals, dreams, or passions, they need pillars to be able to stand and grow.
Why? Because the things you saw on the internet the other day aren’t just about motivation, quotes, or just to soothe your chaotic mind.
They NEED pillars, and those are:
I will discuss these pillars of goals in my next newsletter.
One question lies exist: what if you lose?
Anything about failure and losing the battle is that you aren’t starting it from zero anymore but you already had a bunch of those experiences as your foundation.
Your journey is yours alone, but with the right mindset and strategies, you have the power to make it extraordinary.
Conclusion
We live every day by hope, hope the next day will be better than today. But we are not solely hanging on threads of hope.
Man needs purpose, direction, and guidance to live their life because it’s unexpected and that’s what makes life dynamic.
It’s changing every time, there’s a cycle to every moment.
Life, in essence from a human perspective, is a singular-player game—an intricate journey where you wield the controller.
Life, with its unpredictable twists and turns, offers you the opportunity to explore your strengths, values, and aspirations.
It becomes apparent that singular-player the choices you make, the challenges you overcome, and the triumphs you celebrate all contribute to your unique life.
Embrace the solitude of this solo quest, for it grants you the autonomy to shape your destiny.
Whether monumental or trivial, each decision is a stroke on the canvas of your existence.
Find joy in the discovery of your innermost self.
Take charge of your destiny and relish the satisfaction of crafting a life that aligns with your authentic being.
The external applause is only a bonus but the internal harmony of staying true to yourself is what matters.
While others may play supporting roles in your story, the narrative is yours.
Take ownership of your choices, learn from the plot twists, and savor the sweetness of success.
The single-player nature of life doesn't imply isolation; instead, it emphasizes self-discovery and self-mastery.
Play it authentically, embracing the beauty of solitude, and let your journey resonate with the authenticity of a single-player game.
That's all for today, enjoy your Sunday.
