Chloé - Mother of the “it-bags”

Because indeed yes, the famous Paddington that all fashionistas have torn off, it is obviously a bag of the house Chloé! Well before embarking on leather goods selling, Chloé is the first "luxury ready-to-wear" brand launched in 1952, finding a great compromise between ready-to-wear and haute couture. Rejecting the coldness and stiffness of the 1950s, years when Dior and Balenciaga are at the top, Gaby Aghion, its founder of Egyptian origin, meets a huge success with her subtle models in light materials. The clothes are available immediately, already cut and made, with materials of excellent quality, and studied cuts. Yves Saint Laurent decided to create Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, or Givenchy with his University collection from 1956. 

Gaby Aghion knows how to talk to her clients: her first real collection is presented during a breakfast at Café de Flore, one of their favorite cafes. She is supported by Hélène Lazareff, founder of Elle magazine. She will continue this tradition by continuing to present her collections in cafés, at the Closerie des Lilas or at Lipp, making Chloé a Parisian institution. She began to associate young talents, such as Maxime de la Falaise, Loulou's mother and soon Karl Lagerfeld in 1966. He imagined fluid long skirts and vaporous blouses; the designer is at the top of her glory: Jackie Kennedy, Maria Callas, Brigitte Bardot and Grace Kelly swear only by Chloé. 

When the designer retires, the brand declines for a few years before being brilliantly revived by Stella McCartney, then 25 years old. It's a second youth for the brand. Phoebe Philo will add a personal touch, sensual and sophisticated in 2001, introduced bags in the fashion shows, including the famous Paddington!
