Chips, Pups and A Horrible Mistake.

Well, hello beautiful human, it’s lovely to see you here in this land of magical murmurations.
I’m going to keep things nice & cosy – no robots here! Yes, I’ll talk about voiceovers and self-employment, but I’ll also talk about life, the universe, dogs and all things human – basically, things that tend to resonate with you, my fellow earth-dweller.
?Because life’s all about human connection, isn’t it? If I have a great day, I want to tell a human. If I have a bad day, I want to tell a human. And if you’re having a bad day, this human wants to lend an ear (yes, birds do have ears), not a piece of hardware or a tiny chip. We like our chips plump, crunchy & edible, don’t we?!
Speaking of chips, I have a curious tale for you…
Posie, the lovely studio dog crossed the rainbow bridge last Autumn – ooft that was hard!
Anyway, one day when we were out walking, she discovered a chip. Never has a dog been more delighted! On every walk thereafter, every single white blob on the pavement had to be fully examined just in case it was one of those prized pieces of potatoey goodness.
Neville Longbottom the whippet pup joined us in December, as you may know. He’d never met Posie & he’d certainly never eaten or seen a chip. And yet he too has always felt the need to examine every white blob on the pavement. Weird, huh?
Perhaps not so weird when you hear this...
When we were debating whether or not we should have another dog so soon, a friend told me that dogs have two souls, their own & a walk-in soul. Often, your previous dog will walk into the soul of your next dog, to ease its journey & reconnect with its humans.
Well, examining every white blob on the pavement isn’t typical whippet behaviour, so you know what I think - never mind the fact that Neville was practically offered to us out of the blue and on a plate!
Do you know what else this friend told me? The two souls theory was proven to her. Her previous dog was black all over, except for a tiny bit of white fur right at the tip of his tail. She kept a little tuft to treasure. When her next dog came along, guess what? He was brown & red all over, except for a tiny bit of white fur right at the end of his tail. Goosebumps, eh?

So, when a client asks for a magical read, these are the sorts of things I draw upon. Earthly, daily life, yet other-worldly stories that nestle right into the heart and stay there to keep things nice & soft & hopeful.
And magical things do happen.
Often.
I think ooh, I haven’t heard from you for a while, & suddenly, there you are in my inbox!
I have so many stories to share with you & I’d love to hear your stories, too.
In fact, I’m going to leave you with one of those precious things. If you'd like to know how this particular collaboration came about , hop over to my blog, but needless to say it was gloriously unexpected. So, without further ado, a brilliant tale written by the fabulous US copywriter Jeff Eaker for his blog Kingdom of Failure. If you need an excuse to stay in bed, this is it:
A Horrible Mistake we don't want you to make!

It’s never ‘just talking’, it’s about that magical human connection.
