Chinese Global Travel Roars Back to Life
Chinese global travel is making a triumphant return, and the numbers speak volumes. Recent data from the Chinese national immigration authority reveals an average of approximately 230,000 Chinese citizens crossing international borders daily in August. This translates to a staggering 6 million border crossings per month and nearly 84 million on an annual scale. While this figure represents roughly 54% of pre-COVID levels, it firmly establishes China as the world's leading contributor to global tourism.

In a testament to this resurgence, the China Visitors Summit (CVS) has recently celebrated its 27th and 28th editions in Doha, Qatar, and Dubai, UAE. The event attracted 121 Chinese travel buyers, including travel agents, tour operators, MICE managers, corporate travel planners, and specialty agencies catering to luxury, adventure, sports, culinary, and specialty travel. Additionally, OTA's were also in attendance. These buyers engaged in over 8,000 face-to-face meetings with 151 distinguished travel suppliers from 17 different countries. Among them were hotel groups, global hotel brands, destinations, airlines, car rental companies, inbound tour operators, museums, shopping centers, attractions, and more.
?
The CVS's reemergence in two vibrant cities across two countries, facilitating a multitude of interactions between travel suppliers and highly qualified Chinese buyers, underscores the revival of global Chinese travel.
?
A unique feature of CVS is its worldwide presence, strategically located in key travel destinations favored by global Chinese travelers. This enables leading Chinese travel buyers to engage with travel suppliers in their natural environment. They can explore travel products such as hotels, attractions, conference facilities, shopping malls, and more. This hands-on experience allows Chinese travel buyers to truly immerse themselves in the destination's hospitality, going beyond mere site inspections and becoming authentic travelers.
