China’s Ganten Continues Partnership With Volleyball World

Chinese premium bottled water brand Ganten has renewed its multi-year deal with?Volleyball World.????
The renewal sees Ganten cementing its role?as the Official Global Water Partner for several key volleyball events including major tournaments such as the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), Women’s World Championships, Women’s Club World Championships, and Women’s U21 World Championships.
Driven by the massive success of China’s women’s national team in recent times, volleyball has become one of the most popular sports nationwide, making it a favourite for Chinese brands to invest in sponsorship deals.?
Speaking about the renewing, Volleyball World CEO Finn Taylor, said,??“Renewing our partnership with Ganten was an obvious choice for Volleyball World, given China’s significant market and the unparalleled enthusiasm for the sport here. According to ASN data, volleyball has seen spending of almost US$69.8m since Q421 across the Asian sponsorship market, with a quarterly average investment of almost US$6.5m during this period. Spends for Q324 is forecasted to hit almost US$8.3m, about 27.7% higher than the quarterly average investment. As for the top markets for volleyball sponsorship spending, Thailand (28.6%), China (25.6%), Japan (20.5%) and India (17%) lead the way.

Meanwhile, Ganten (55%, ~US$78.7m+) is the largest spender for its category by far since Q421, with a quarterly average investment of almost US$6.6m. However, spends have been between US$446k and US$1.9m+ since Q123, below the quarterly average investment of almost US$6.6m. Some of the brand’s key deals include World Table Tennis (~US$1.1m), China Basketball Association (US$546k), ATP Shanghai Masters (US$422k) and China Volleyball League (~US$1.1m).
