China + USA = A Better World!

On October 26th 2017 I embarked on not just any ordinary trip to Shenzhen China. This day was the first time I flew with Hainan Airlines and this wasn’t any ordinary flight for Hainan either. It was their 1st flight out of New York with non stop service to Chengdu China and it would be made by Hainan’s new Boeing 787-9, the Kungfu Panda. This was a celebration of new beginnings and opportunities for many people. 

The Boeing 787-9 is a magnificent jet which marvels the cutting edge technology. The Flight crew was dressed to impress and that they did, as we reached cruising altitude dinner was served followed by champagne and cake.

All this magnified how in tune the Chinese are to welcoming you to their country, not only for business but for adventure, rest and relaxation. 

REASON FOR MY TRIP TO CHINA.

I was an invited guest by the CSCE (Mr. Norman NG & Mr. Yang) to be a part of forging joint technologies in the UAV Industry and was appointed as a consultant for the World UAV Federation. The CPCE is the World’s largest gathering of security professionals. Many Industries were represented including that of the UAV market. The information and relationships made at this event will surely be paramount in making the World we live in a Safer Place.

There are many people in the UAV industry that have seen the good get bad and the bad get worse and the worse evaporate. Most companies of the UAV market have come from the RC/Hobby side of the business. As smart phone technologies advanced the Hobby market followed, but as manufacturers started popping up everywhere they may have followed each other to closely.

The companies that exist today are an extension of the “Drone Toy Market”. There is no doubt that toy drones have heightened the interest of unmanned air vehicles and autonomous technologies, but the flawed logic is still very apparent while they try to morph a toy into a true VTOL aircraft. The thought that a toy drone company could add a fixed wing to four rotors and call it a “Commercial VTOL” is frightening and irresponsible. 

Today the reality is that Military/Commercial aviation contractors are starting to do exactly what I predicted more than 2 years ago. They are starting to make their craft less complex so that they can enter a responsible commercial UAV market. The recent acquisition of Aurora Flight Science by Boeing will be common practice as these giants do not want to sit at the side lines while a new field of aviation is improving and becoming widely accepted. 

Now back to the reason why I started writing this article in the first place. Worldwide politics has blurred many realities that are thriving today and the reality that I have witnessed is that China is a supreme partner of the USA. Hainan’s 787-9 Dreamliner (built in the USA) is a perfect example of China/USA relations. People need to understand that these countries are not only super powers, but super partners that are working together to make the world a better place. As President Trump visits Asia this week I hope that it will be apparent that we are “ONE WORLD - ONE TEAM”!!!

People decide destiny!
