Thai, Lao firms sign MoU to expand rail freight transport to China

Lao and Thai companies recently signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Vientiane to promote cooperation on international rail freight transport between China, Laos and Thailand using the Thai-Lao and Lao-China railways.Under the agreement, the Lao National Railway State Enterprise will coordinate, facilitate and reserve rail trailers from State Railway of Thailand and Laos-China Railway to be used by Kaocharoen Traintransport, Global Multimodal Logistics (Owned by PTT) and Pan-asia Silk Road for international freight transport.State Railway of Thailand trains will be reserved for freight transport between Bangkok and Thanaleng station in Vientiane, a Lao news agency reported.(By?Fibre2Fashion News Des）

On March 24th, with a loud whistle, a?train?loaded with auto parts slowly?departed?from the Wuhan Central Station of China Railway Union. The train will leave?via?Erlianhot?Rail?Port and head to?Jodzina,Belarus.The whole journey is expected to?take?20 days.?It?marks the smooth departure of the first "Wuhan-?Jodzina" China-Europe?freight?train using the "fast customs clearance" mode.

This is another new line to Belarus after the opening of the China-Europe freight train(Wuhan) to Minsk, Belarus in 2015，further expanding the international railway transportation network. Jodzina?is about 50 kilometers away from Minsk. Due to the current congestion at Minsk?stations, the development of new?route?will improve transportation efficiency?and?provide customers with more efficient logistics services.And?also?promote the operation of Wuhan freight trains in the international logistics supply chain.

China-Europe freight train (Chengdu-Chongqing) opened nearly a thousand trains in the first two months, a year-on-year increase of 56%
