China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) has ordered 100 C919 narrowbody jets directly from state-owned aircraft manufacturer COMAC.
China Eastern Airlines is soaring to new heights by placing the most monumental order in aviation history. This groundbreaking deal, valued at a staggering $10 billion based on list prices, secures 100 cutting-edge C919 airplanes.
The C919, proudly crafted by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), is poised to disrupt the aviation market, challenging industry giants like Airbus' A320neo and Boeing's 737 MAX.
China Eastern is making history as the inaugural adopter of the C919, having already acquired five of these game-changing jets, with three already gracing their fleet. The delivery schedule is a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence.
Expect a steady influx of innovation from 2024 to 2031, as they receive their fleet in strategic batches. In 2024, the skies will witness the arrival of the first five aircraft, followed by a consistent influx of ten each year from 2025 to 2027, escalating to 15 annually from 2028 to 2030, culminating in the grand finale of the last 20 jets in 2031.
This momentous achievement is further accentuated by China Eastern's strategic negotiation skills, securing a "substantial discount" for this aviation game-changer. Their visionary approach not only guarantees a future of unrivaled flight experiences but also sets a new standard for industry prowess.
