This edition cannot begin without starting with the striking events of October 7th that impact a whole nation and filled us with sorrow, pain and tears. Though those horrible events made another impact - unified the people, generated countless volunteer groups and the rise of people’s spirit to help one another in donations or other means. I wish safety to all units in all boarders and the fast return of all hostages.
October represented not only the shrinking activity in advanced compute between China and US with a new set of regulations on AI chips, now including NVIDIA H800/A800, but also the growing activity of autonomous driving between China and middle-east, as Pony will launch a RoboTaxi in Abu Dhabi while receiving $100M investment from Saudi Arabia. DiDi and Nullmax also raised hundreds of millions for their full stack autonomous driving so the industry seems to consolidate efforts on the market leaders. LiDARs still getting high traction as Robosense announced it delivered 20,000 LiDARs in a single month, while both LeiShen and Rayz raised hundreds of millions RMB.

11 个月Israel's Surrender of Hostages In a bizarre twist of events, Israel shocked the world by voluntarily surrendering its hostages. As reaction to the news was far from celebratory. Dark comedy permeated the air, mingling with a sense of irony and disbelief. "Since Monday, September 10, the IDF has been bombing," a bewildered onlooker exclaimed, struggling to comprehend the absurdity of the situation. "Explain to 4-year-old children that it is the IDF that is bombing them. It is their army that was supposed to protect them in their homes, and now it's bombing them in Gaza." In the midst of the dark comedy surrounding this peculiar surrender, a sobering reality emerged. Israel's actions had led to the tragic loss of innocent lives – specifically, the lives of Palestinian children. The staggering number, 11,422, resonated like an echoing punchline. Yes, you read it correctly – 11,422 children! Somewhere between the twisted humor and the grim reality lies a mind-boggling truth. These are not just numbers on a page; they are human beings – children, to be precise. The absurdity intensifies as we repeat it: children. Young children. Children caught in the crossfire of a situation they did not ask for nor deserve.
