China Added 87.41GW Of Solar In 2022

The National Energy Administration of China?recently released the latest national?power statistics. In 2022, China's solar energy installed capacity?hit a record of 87.41GW, with a year-on-year increase of 60.3%.?China's installation reached 21.7GW only in last December, with 65.71GW added in the?first 11 months. By the end of December 2022, China's cumulative solar power generation reached 392.61GW, up 28.1% year on year.

According to the PV installation in the first three quarters of each province, the performance of distributed PV was outstanding, mainly due to provincial distributed incentive policies. In addition, the construction of utility solar has also been actively promoted. By the end of 2022, the first batch of 95GW?large-scale solar and wind power bases focusing on desert and Gobi areas have been started the construction. The list of the second batch of projects has been finalized and the progress?has been accelerated. The third batch of projects are also under planning.

According to the data of China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA), from January to October 2022, China’s export volume of solar modules increased by 85.8% year on year, the market demand for traditional solar applications remained strong. In particular, the demand for solar products in European countries increased sharply last year. China's exports to Europe accounted for more than half of the total, and its exports to Spain, Germany and Poland increased significantly. For South American market, with a higher demand, Brazil imported a large number of solar modules for distributed market.
