Children and Slugs
There is probably a LinkedIn post to write about how slugs are disgusting while snails (slugs with shells) are interesting. I'll let someone who wakes up at four in the morning to bathe in a block of ice post that.
Or have their "Team" post it under their name. A slug was on the front steps. My sister saw it and did not like it. Can't really blame her. I heard that slugs dissolve with table salt. She wanted to see that.
I salted a slug and it was no longer on the front steps. Write it off as a Science experiment. It's not like I put ants under a magnifying glass to watch them burn on a sunny day. Is that my most interesting slug story?
In the early days with cats, Sunshine and Precious were indoor cats. Sunshine was my favorite of the two cats. His orange and white fur was soft and he did not mind being picked up. Precious minded and jumped down until I stopped trying.
One cat was friendly, the other became friendly a few years later. I wish people improved themselves like that. Anyway, Sunshine got out of the house. My sister was concerned. When I cam home from work that evening, he came to the front door.
He was on walkabout. He ended up with a slug in his fur. Don't ask me how. Maybe he rolled on the pavement and the slug happened to be there. On a furry cat it was not easy taking the slug off him.
We did and put this slug back in the yard. We tested the hypothesis that a slug would dissolve under salt so there was no good reason to do it again.
