Child Custody Devotional - Proverbs 3:5 - Get the Help Your Family Needs...

“Lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

As the number of parents and relatives we serve has exponentially grown, and as our team which is so blessed to serve those clients has expanded in turn, so has the array of outside professionals which we enlist to serve and support Foxtrot. Long story short, we practice what we preach.

I have a teacher that reminded me early in Foxtrot’s history, “if you don’t have a receptionist, YOU ARE the receptionist.” In that respect, perhaps I should change my stock response of “yes, you need a lawyer” to “you’ve got a lawyer; you just need one that’s not you.”

The way human beings pass knowledge through generations and through history is nothing short of a miracle. This is especially true in the legal field. Our team works in one of the three ‘medieval’ professions, which are divinity, medicine and the law. It is no accident that those are three fields in which people look outside themselves for the support, advice and advocacy they need to be safe, effective and have peace of mind.

At Foxtrot, we’re Child Custody lawyers, but we have lawyers of our own that handle our rent contracts and other business dealings. We have bookkeepers and accountants that handle our taxes. We have chosen and been called to do one thing, to help you stand up for yourself and your family. Other than that, we lean not on our own understanding. Who are leaning on?
