Money never sleeps: Parents of small children don't have much of either one these days.
That's a lot of money flowing into child care. Unfortunately, operating a day care is also expensive. Costs include employee salaries, background checks, insurance premiums, coloring supplies, and food. The cost of snacks alone has to top at least $4 trillion a year (unofficial guess). And it's hard to keep raising rates on already cash-strapped parents. So many daycares are forced to close.
???? CNN's Meena Duerson takes an inside look at one such child care center in Wisconsin, where dozens of families are scrambling to find alternatives.

??? Disinformation decision: The Supreme Court says the White House and other federal agencies may continue to press social media companies to remove content the government views as disinformation. The 6-3 ruling focused more on the plaintiffs' standing to sue the Biden administration, rather than the case's First Amendment questions. The decision is especially impactful with the presidential election just months away, as it means federal officials can continue flagging posts they believe may be the work of foreign agents trying to disrupt the 2024 race. My husband’s job gave us priority at one center in town. We secured the spot two days before I was supposed to start back at work, which offered absolutely no flexibility for using intermittent fmla. The boys were three months old. Daycare for twins in Denver cost more than my mortgage and we’ve had about 6 percent rise in tuition every year.
