The journey from Empower to Regaining Self Power
Why don't we own our own strengths, our voice and unapologetically do the things we want to do? I guess, that's where the word EMPOWER came from, when some people in minority (perhaps) gave in, and some people from the same minority rose to speak up.
"Women Empowerment" has taken the hot seat. Covering women issues/ gender issues, women leadership, equality, having a seat on the table and being a part of policy, and many other things. That sounds like a good change.
A horse can be taken to the water, but not made to drink....so is proverbial empower that one can be assisted and guided but beyond a point, the confidence should come from within to fight one's own battles. How long and difficult is the journey from empower to regaining self power?
Gaslighting, very commonly used word again. This affects mental health like anything, and what is being done to get someone out of this. Imposter syndrome, self afflicted pain that one goes through, what is being done? Are these the less-talked about but common in workplaces, nowadays? Harassed to make feel low, or failing to find the courage to speak, or feel good oneself?
Since when, someone so innocent and pure turn malicious or diminished? There are so many questions, but answers are few. I know of some amazing women leaders who are really trying their best to help with advice, mentorship, knowledge, training to help their fellow women colleague & friends.
Power is within us. Unleashing this power is important. There is power in saying "no", there is power in "leading", and there is power in making bold choices.
