Located in a growing NSW Regional Centre where lifestyle and strong sense of community are realities, this is an attractive position for an experienced manager able to lead the financial stewardship, support services and development at one of NSW’s leading regional schools.

Calrossy sits under the auspices of the Anglican Diocese of Armidale and seeks to promote excellence in Christian Education and graduates that are creators of hope, integrity, and resilience. The School caters for approximately 1000 girls and boys from Pre-School to Year 12. Employing over 200 staff, Calrossy operates on two main campuses. The Junior School and Years 7 – 9 are located on the William Cowper Campus in North Tamworth, and Years 10 -12 students are educated at the Brisbane Street Campus in East Tamworth. Boarding facilities for both girls and boys are provided within the school and nearby. Calrossy also operates Tangara Farm as a Trade Training Centre which is home to an Agriculture and Primary Industries program.

The COO will report directly to the Principal and will play a key role in managing the non-teaching functions of the School including finance, management of properties and facilities, risk and compliance, human resources, ICT, catering and food services. As well as being part of the School’s Senior Leadership Team, the COO will fulfil the duties of Company Secretary and Public Officer of the School. Therefore, the role will involve a close liaison with The School Board and its Chair. ?

The successful candidate will be a relational, empowering and dynamic professional, able to:

  • Lead a financial team and promote best practice in fiscal probity
  • Promote continuous improvement of school management practices
  • Nurture the human resources of Calrossy so that it is a favoured place of employment
  • Oversee the School’s built environment and educational facilities
  • Manage the compliance, reporting and the legal obligations of the School
  • Maintain good relationships with both the School Executive and the School Board and manage complex stakeholder networks

A university qualification in Business, Economics and/or Management is essential and relevant post graduate studies, such as CPA or MBA are desirable. An attractive salary and benefits package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
