Completely agree on partnerships throughout the org. Understanding the business goals helps to design strong ethics and compliance cultures to drive behaviors that will help the business succeed and remain ethical and compliant.

Very good advice and it makes so much sense-i.e., HR, Legal, Business Units and Compliance establishing a good working partnership for the good of the corporation's ethics and compliance programs/initiatives and culture. I agree that the DOJ's focus on consequence management is a positive step- the mandated best practices and requirements if done properly and implemented with consistent oversight, monitoring and assessment of policies and procedures can make a huge difference in a corporation's culture of ethics, integrity reduction of financial, reputation, and compliance risks.

Agreed. CCO and HR need to work in tandem while Operational leadership enforce. Otherwise compliance ends up being a theoretical concept in a policy pdf that no one looks at.

In my last role, HR and Compliance worked closely together. You cannnot effectively influence culture unless the functions work together.
