Marketing on Monday: Never Too Old to Learn – Inspired by Chicken Soup for the Soul
Last week’s article sparked some incredible feedback, and it’s got me thinking. One particular conversation stood out – a chat with my business partner, who’s a little older than me (Sorry Tommy Findlay ). We talked about the training he’s been through, and it struck me that you’re never too old to learn or to develop new skills. He's always upskilling, refreshing knowledge and educating and it reminded me that growth doesn’t have an age limit, which is something that as I get older, I'm now reminded of...
After a recent lunch with Mark Abrol, he kindly bought me a book called Chicken Soup for the Soul – Listen to Your Dreams. His advice? Read one story per day and see how it resonates. It’s a small but meaningful habit that I’ve decided to adopt. So, every day, I’m making time to read one of these stories, to reflect, and to learn something new. It might sound simple, but it’s amazing how a little daily dose of inspiration can reshape your perspective. Especially after a revitalising 3 weeks.
Reflecting on this conversation with my business partner and the new habit Mark inspired, I realised something. In the last 12 months, I’ve immersed myself in tech and learnt so much more than I ever expected. From mastering new tools to understanding evolving marketing trends, the learning curve has been steep but incredibly rewarding. It’s a reminder that whether you’re 36 (like me) or much older, there’s always room to grow.
So, here’s my takeaway: It’s never too late to learn, to start a new habit, or to challenge yourself. Whether it’s reading a story a day, picking up a new skill, or simply being open to fresh ideas, the journey of learning is continuous. I'm going to be booking myself onto more training instead of simply hosting sessions all the time.
Question for my connections and friends on here... What new habit or skill will you pick up this week or what are you learning?

19 小时前Yeah I’m getting old ?? 40 this year ??. But yes never too old to keep learning. Something I’m trying to instill in my children- a growth mindset set - you can always improve your knowledge and abilities through practice and application of one self.
