Chicago’s Return to the Office
Back in May, there was an incredibly successful Chicago Returns Week presented by BOMA/Chicago in partnership with Chicago Returns. All of the buildings in Chicago were encouraged to participate in this event including Chicago’s AON Center — one of the country’s largest and most iconic buildings. ?
Chicago’s return to the office ?
It’s amazing that everyone is getting together to promote a back-to-the-office movement.?
By providing cool, engaging, and on-trend activations in the event spaces, it highlights what’s going on throughout the city. More importantly, it also reminds people of the on-site amenities in the building that they have been away from throughout COVID. ?
BOMA/Chicago’s Amy Masters said this of the exciting event: ?
“We were thrilled to see over 40 downtown office buildings participate in Chicago Returns Week, hosting fun and creative events throughout the week to engage tenants and welcome their return. In addition to the robust participation by our building members, we also credit the collaborative efforts and innovative planning by our Chicago Returns group – with strong representation from JLL – for the great success of this campaign.” – Amy Masters.??
In my view, campaigns like this create an interest and a draw back to the building. They fully support the concept and vision of what JLL’s XM Team is doing to turn these buildings into a destination. By providing the amenities that people want, it lends them to be in a place where they want to be. ?
To ramp up the excitement, many engaging on-trend activations took place during Chicago Returns Week, which was filled with a week-long celebration full of tenant events, giveaways, and prizes, including:??
Take retail as an example ?
For years retailers have been working to make their malls a destination —?
That’s exactly what buildings are doing now. At large, people can now work remotely, so creating a level of energy and a place of destination is what JLL’s XM Team is helping our investors do. ?
Working together to achieve more ?
This back-to-the-office kickoff supported by BOMA/Chicago is a great partnership for our buildings to help bring back the vision of getting back to Chicago’s office buildings. ?
This campaign encouraged everyone to approach this milestone collectively. Now, as more Chicagoans are heading back to the office, they’re realizing that being together provides a sense of community and camaraderie that only happens in person. This creates the energy, vibe, and vitality that is missed remotely. ?
This reflects the nationwide trend where industry leaders and building owners are collaborating to overcome today’s unique challenges.??
