There is a widespread misconception that China's GDP boom is whole and solely because of exports, though exports are still an important factor. The "$2 Tn eCommerce market" points perfectly the boom is now shifted from exports to internal consumption. If India as a nation has aspiration to be like China, the only way is to ensure that more and more households alleviate themselves to middle and upper middle class incomes.

If numbers define success, then China is obviously the successful nation in terms of where it was in the 1970s. Surprisingly when a successful nation is just in our neighborhood, yet we have so little awareness about their culture and way of thinking/working. Can you suggest any particular article/ book that you might have come across where the journey of China (as a nation) has been explained? Thanks again for these insights.

Hi Parth Based on data shared, 2 things are clear: 1. In the race for economic domination, China is way ahead of India; and 2. China is likely to threaten the #1 economic status of US in a decade or so Having said that, What about the recent disruptions affecting their economy? Anything serious? And, their status as a trusted economic partner on the global stage?
