Coming from a business family, is it compulsory to join the business or have a corporate career?

That apart, the walk from the closest station named after Mahatma Gandhi, is about 500 meters. But the climb of 64 steps to the 4th floor office and stores is a regular routine and a strenuous exercise.
I qualified as a chartered accountant. And I had to join my father’s business.
Counting steps is a daily routine for me at 11am. And for my father at 9am. He recounts at 7 pm and I do it at 9pm.These do not include the in between client visits or lunch.
Jokes apart, life is, should I say, centered or webbed around business talks from waking to catching up on a few hours of sleep.?
Sunday is when I unwind myself in bed.
Having got professional qualifications, meant, I would take some decisions to grow the business. My dad had moved from the retail family business in Dinajpur in North Bengal to Manufacturing in Kolkata. The next course of growth and expansion was markets for which? manpower became a prerequisite.?
I started going to markets outside Kolkata and expanded the business.

?I selected a candidate on the basis of their needs, desperation and zeal to earn and gave them freedom to work to increase coverage. This way I could concentrate on developing Western Office wear and other product lines.
I trained him for sales under me in the markets during peak season. Now I am confident that he can handle things independently.

It is a crucial decision. It is also important that I need to restructure the working patterns. I am already in a mental tussle of corporate versus family business.
